Last week my latest book signing was held at North Lake College in Irving, Texas. I would just like to thank all those who came and supported REACH. I pray that God will allow you to find many blessings within the pages.

So, where have I been? Well after the July events in Corpus with my family, I held a book signing in Victoria, Texas and in my home town. I then traveled to Atlanta and held two more signings. I want to warmly thank my southern neighbors for their gracious hospitality by inviting me into their book stores. As a side note, I loved the aquarium.
My summer concluded with a 10-day stay in Boston; I spent a wonderful time with my now present daughter-in-law, rode the trains (reminding me of Europe), and dined on great cuisine. And of course, the stroll downtown and through the parks were most refreshing.
September ushered in two wonderful events. First, my only child, Austin Cardell, married Ms. Amanda Marie Anderson. I now have a beautiful daughter. They are truly a lovely couple, and I’m trusting God for their glorious future.
Now, for the second event in September. My new wonderful church held my September 2009 book signing event. The women of First Baptist Church of Irving are loving and supportive women. I’m most thankful for those who attended and have voiced their appreciation for REACH. May they be blessed by its message.
October is here but quickly fading. My days are spent teaching World Religion, Composition, and Cultural Studies. In addition, the efforts to translate REACH into Spanish is underway and I’m collaborating with a local University professor to co-write a men’s version of REACH–men you’ve been asking for it, and I’m doing my best to honor your request.
My eclectic nature as always has presented me opportunities that are rewarding, challenging, and wonderful–I’d have it no other way. Until the next time . . . Avis
Each July 4th my family comes together in remembrance of Morris Anderson Jr., my father. This year we gathered at my mother’s home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A signing for my latest book, REACH for the Visionary Woman of God, was held at the SMU Barnes & Noble in Dallas this past Saturday. I just want to say thank you to all those who supported me by coming out and making the event such a success.

Father, I sit as the light from your presence shines on my being. The moon glitters and dances across the waves in obedience to your command to shine upon this vessel to highlight to reveal Your creation.
I once thought I was less, not meeting the world’s expectations not living a fruitful–worldly–life.
But now, I look back and see that man has no measuring stick to capture the magnificence of Your creation, the desires the plans You have for me.
Not until I stopped measuring myself against the other vessels did I see that the Creator’s design and desire could only be interpreted by Thee.
Not until I stopped to see the sparkling the glittering rays of light shine from within did I realize that I am what you want.
You placed the potential within and would only release when I was in agreement.
I would like to welcome you to the official blog of author, Avis Winifred. I hope your visit here will allow you to reach new heights in your walk with God. Thank you for coming and have a blessed day.
